Dr. Michael Crane has taught piano both individually and in group settings for over 25 years at fine institutions around the country, including USC and at the Third Street Music School Settlement in New York City, an institution with a rich history and the highest reputation for excellence in music education for over one hundred years. In addition to his work as a faculty member of these fine schools, he has always maintained a private studio.
Dr. Crane is a proud member of The California Association of Professional Music Teachers (CAPMT); the state affiliate of the Music Teachers’ National Association (MTNA). The programs offered by CAPMT afford students valuable opportunities and experiences including performances, state and national competitions, and professional evaluations, including the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) certificate program. During his years of teaching, Dr. Crane has enjoyed working with students of all levels and ability. He’s also had the privilege of working with students representing a wide spectrum of socio-economic, socially and ethnically diverse backgrounds.
